Dave and Susan were married on December 2nd in St. Thomas USVI at noon. They were on a 7 day cruise and decided to get married on one of the islands they were visiting.
Dave was actually the one that found our website and the dress. Susan loved it the minute she saw it! Susan thought it was perfect for their wedding.
Dave and Susan were married at a site called the Garden Terrace overlooking the ocean and the British Virgin Islands. They found a company called "Wedding the Island Way" that helped them plan the details.
Dave and Susan had the wedding of their dreams and are now on their way to living "happily ever after!"
Three generations of vintage lovers! Carrie is pictured here with her Mom and daughter - looks like a great way to spend a Spring day!
Brenda looks SO professional in this dark brown vintage suit from
the 1940's.
The jacket is nicely fitted with a front button closure and the
skirt has a slight a-line.
I'd like to start with introducing our moderator, Ann. Ann did an outstanding job of describing the fashions and accessories modeled in the show. She looks cool and collected in her 1930's bias cut net gown (VEC079) and large picture hat (VEC035).
Our male model and escort is a dapper gentleman wearing a three piece turn of the century suit (VEC125). The suit consists of a matching coat, vest and slacks. He completes his outfit with an Edwardian white shirt (VEC387), beaver top hat (VEC089) and a Victorian goldtone watch fob (VECJ102).
Dick is shown here escorting such a lovely lady! Chanity is wearing a chocolate brown gown from the 1850's/1860's (VEC404). The bodice of the gown has a center closure, drop shoulders and is accented with brown fringe. The skirt is bell shaped and approximately 12 feet around at the hemline. Chanity wears a brown bonnet which ties under the chin. The bonnet has a brim which is accented with brown crocheted trim. This bonnet is of a later period - 1880's/1890's and is sold with NHC106.
Now we go to the 1870's/1880's - large bell skirts are out and the bustle is in! Dick escorts Stephanie who is wearing a bustle gown in a cocoa brown with dark brown velvet accents (VEC277). The bodice is fitted with a center front button closure. It has a johnny collar and coat style sleeves. The skirt is mostly velvet with a pleated hemline of brown faille. One side of the skirt is done in vertical pleats and the other side falls straight. The entire back of the skirt is gathered for the large bustle. The skirt also has an overskirt which drapes asymetrically and poufs on one side, while the other side if fitted to the seam. Stephanie wears a brown bonnet from the same period. It is decorated with a floral motif and worn low on the forehead and higher in the back. Stephanie completes her outfit with a brown parasol.
Janice is wearing a maturnity gown from the 1890's (VEC130). The gown is made of a heavy, finely corded material that attaches at the outer shoulders and has a center front opening with no closure, except for a wide satin like tie which is attached to the inner portion of the gown. One tie is much longer than the other, enabling it to wrap around to the back and allows for adjustment to the front width of the gown. The back of the gown is cut straight, except for two wide pleats at the back neckline and a small train. The entire center portion of the gown is done in black embossed lace over a black lining. The lace is gathered fairly closely at the neckline and falls to almost the knee. Two additional layers of lace fall from the knee to a scallop at the hemline. Janice wears a black wired bonnet from the 1880's/1890's (AL202). The rim is created from a wire frame and the hat ties with two 1 3/4" black ribbons. The hat is decorated with gathered tufts, a tan colored burlap type ribbon runs through the black material, accented with sprays of flowers.
