Volupte Vintage Compact/Brush
Case
This vintage Volupte compact features highly chased (engraved)
design work.
The compact is approximately 3" square. A glued mirror is affixed to
the inside lid. The case is signed "Volupte." The two outstanding
features of the compact are the design work and the fabric carrying
case with brush. The compact has a very intricate design on both
sides - similar to a rococo design from India. In the flowing design
of flowers and birds is an elephant with a blanket and a tiger
attacking an antelope. Very interesting! The fabric case is also
just a bit different. A 3" wide brush edges one side of the case.
This was probably used to "whisk" away strau powder from clothing.
The compact's overall condition is good. The outside design detail
is in very good condition; however the inside has seen better days.
The mirror is in poor condition and the puff and screen are missing.
The powder lid has some light scratches. The fabric case also shows
wear.

Elgin Vintage Clamshell
Vanity
A wonderful vintage pearlized green clamshell vanity! This vanity
case
measures approximately 3" by 3". The compact is shown in the
"Collector's Encyclopedia of Compacts, Vol. II" on page 88. The
compact has separate covered compartments for rouge and powder.
Neither have ever been used. The puff is marked "Elgin" as well as
the powder lid, which is marked "Elgin American." An "EA" stamp is
also incised on the lid. The compact's mirror is framed. The compact
is in very good condition; however the outer case does show some
wear. The compact comes with a colorful crochet pouch which helps
protect the case.

Vintage Langlois Triple Vanity
Case
This vintage triple Vanity Case measures 2" by 4". It contains
pressed
powder, lipstick and rouge. The case is embossed goldtone ribbing
and sea foam green enamel. The inside is marked, "Shari - Langlois -
New York". The case contains the remains of a rouge, lipstick and
powder with puffs. The lipstick pops up and slides out. The mirror
is framed. The compact has a gold sticker on the back reads which
reads, "Radiance Rouge, Rachelle Light Powder, and Vivid Lipstick."
The condition of the compact is very good, but does have normal wear.

Silvertone Vintage Elginite
Compact
W/Chain
This vintage silvertone compact measures approximately 2 1/2" by 2
1/2" and
dates to the 1930's. The silvertone metal has an incised border
which edges a engine turned linear lid design. A diamond shaped
blank cartouche is just waiting for your initials! The compact has a
rectangular linked wrist chain which measures approximately 10" long.
The inside of the compact has a goldtone wash and heavily decorated
with scrolling around each corner. A round mirror is set in the lid
and a loose powder shaker with a silvertone dial is set in the bottom
portion. The silvertone powder shaker is a bit different in design -
it has lines rather than holes and it is stamped, "Pat. Pending."
The back of the compact is marked, "Elginite E.A.M." (Elgin
American). The compact is in very good condition but does have some
minor wear.

Vintage Mondaine Leather
Vanity
This sweet little vanity case is new/old stock and has never been
used. The vintage case is done in a medium brown leather set in a
goldtone
frame. A goldtone embossed "Mondaine" decorates the lower right
corner of the compact. "Mondaine" is also printed across the
"binding" of the compact. The inside is wonderful. It begins with a
beveled mirror and holds a pressed powder in Flesh and rouge in
Medium. The original puffs are included and the original clear
plastic is still intact (however it had pulled away some). The
compact measures approximately 2 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide.

Yardley
Vintage Compact/Lipstick
This early vintage Yardley compact is goldtone in color and the
powder lid
is nicely decorated with a black/goldtone enamel leaf and white
enamel dots. The lipstick is attached to the side and the rim is red
(matches the lipstick color?). There is lipstick still in the case,
but it seems to be "stuck" as it will not turn. The lipstick pushes
in to open the compact. The compact opens to reveal a mirror and
powder compartment. The mirror flips open to expose another mirror
and a round rouge. The rouge is still full; however the powder
compartment is empty. The inside mirror has some crazing and silver
loss, but the outer mirror is in good condition. The inside of the
compact has a Patent Number of 2217903 which reflects an early 1940's
patent date. The bottom of the compact is also marked "Yardley".
The compact is in good condition, but does have wear. It measures
approximately 2 3/4" by 2".

Vintage Goldtone
Compact
This cute vintage goldtone compact is nicely decorated with a
geometric
design on the cover. The design is make up with a combination of
squares and lines. The compact opens to reveal a mirror and powder
screen. The mirror has some minor clouding around the edges. There
are no markings on the compact. It measures approximately 2 3/4" by
2 1/2". The compact is in very good condtion with some minor wear.

Vintage Coty
Compact
Pretty ribbed, vintage tourquoise blue plastic accents this goldtone
compact. Above the plastic there is an embossed circle with a lady
and ram. The rim around the circle says "Corsica". The circle is
topped with a crown and two ribbons further accent the bottom. The
clasp on this compact is a hinged, buckle type clasp. The back of
the compact is marked "COTY" in a vertical rectangle. The inside
hosts a mirror and well used puff. The compact measures 2" long and
1 1/2" wide.
