1970's Purple Velvet/Bow Evening
Gown
This beautiful deep royal purple velvet gown is floor length and
very plush. The gown has a soft rounded neckline and the is cut in a
high empire styling. The gown is sleeveless and the front is very
simple in design. The skirt is a-lined, for a very flattering look.
The surprising element of this gown is the large satin bow which
adorns the back of the gown. The bow has very long tails which fall
to the hemline of the gown. The bow is low gloss in coloring so as
not to take away the plushness of the purple velvet. As a side note:
only the wealthy, kings and queens were allowed to wear the color
purple, thusly, this is how "royal purple" received it's name! The
gown and satin bow are in very good condition. The bow snaps to the
back of the bodice, one snap is missing and would need to be
replaced. The gown is thoroughly lined in a medium weight purple
cotton fabric for extra drape and weight. The top of the bodice is
lined in rayon and is almost the same color as the bow in the back.
The gown measures approximately: bustline=36"; waistline=29";
hips=38"; neckline to waist length=11" and total length=53".

1970's Black Velvet
Jumpsuit
This early 1970's jumpsuit is made of rich, black velvet. The
jumpsuit is fitted through the bodice and has wide legs. The
jumpsuit is a high quality piece and ready to wear to any special
occasion. The jumpsuit has a deep "V" neckline and is sleeveless. If
you love the wide leg look of the 1970's period then this is the
jumpsuit for you. The legs are so wide that when worn, the jumpsuit
looks like an evening gown. The jumpsuit has a metal zipper and zips
up the center back. There are three hook and eyes along the zipper
that hide the zippered back. The jumpsuit does not have a label or
any other markings. The velvet is soft and very plush in it's
looping. The jumpsuit is in very good condition. There is no
underarm damage or crushing of the velvet. A hot pink acetate rayon
fabric accents the black velvet. Hanger loop straps are sewn
underneath the outside straps so that this can be hung on a soft
padded hanger. The jumpsuit measures approximately: bustline=38";
waistline=29"; hips=49" and length=49". The length of each flared
leg measures approximately 32" wide and 64" circumferance!

Gold Brocade Mink Trimmed
Gown
This 1950's/1960's piece is a perfect lounging gown. It does not
look like it has ever been worn and is in very good condition. You'll
feel like Lana Turner did when she wore a gorgeous velvet lounging
gown in the movie "Imitation of Life". The 1950's were a very
glamorous time for women, especially after the end of WWII. Fabrics
became more available after the war and glamorous pieces, such as
this one, were fashioned for women. Many fashion designers wanted
women to not only LOOK fashionable, but to feel gorgeous as well!
Lounging gowns were worn for entertaining and many movie stars wore
them in their homes. This gown is a perfect and wonderful way to do
just that - imitate the past and bring glamour into your home. This
garment is constructed out of a beautiful gold brocade fabric. The
fabric is done in a floral design with gold lame' accents. Three
shades of color adorn this piece - iridescent goldtone threads are
woven throughout the garment with low gloss gold. Soft white woven
threads are designed into a floral pattern. The lounging gown has a
front zipper and a hook/eye closure at the neckline to hide the top
of the zipper. The skirt is floor length and styled in an a-lined
princess cut. There is just a slight sweep to the back of the gown
and side pockets. The gown has 3/4 length sleeves and is lined in
champagne colored organdy/cotton blend fabric. Hook strap on inside
of neckline to hang on a hook. The neckline is trimmed in a lush
brown thick mink collar. The backside of collar has come lose from
the neckline but a couple of stitches will tack it back on. The mink
is in very good condition as is the fabric. This is truly a stunning
gown. The gown measures: bustline=36"; shoulder to shoulder
width=14"; waistline=28"; hips=40" and length=54".

LARGER SIZE!!! 1950's
Irridescent Blue Gown
This larger sized evening gown is from the 1950's. The taffeta
evening gown is a creation of irridescent royal blue and is sure to
stand out at any special event! The gown has a fold down collar and
front button closure. The three front buttons are each accented with
a clear rhinestone. The gown has 3/4 length raglan sleeves and the
bodice is semi-fitted through the waistline. A large material bow
accents the center back neckline of the gown - what a surprise! A
matching material belt encircles the waist. The skirt is pleated and
full, with a striped design. A side pocket is hidden within the side
seam. A metal zipper completes the front closure - beginning at the
waistline and continuing for approximately 8". The gown does have
some staining and some of the seams need reinforcing, but this gown
is well worth the time to repair. The gown is generous in size and
measures approximately: bustline=40"; waistline=30" and length=54".

LARGER SIZE!!! Floor-Length
Pink Beaded Vest
This beautiful vest would be right at home at a wedding or any other
special occassion. The vest is floor length and has a center front
opening. There are no closures on the vest as it is meant to be worn
over another garment. The vest is heavily decorated with white
beading. A band of beading rims the neckline and continues down the
front opening and encircles the lower portion of the vest. The
beading does not go to the hemline of the vest, which will allow for
some alteration to the length. The remaining beading is done in an
overall swirling, vine-like pattern. The vest is generous in size
and is displayed on a dress form which measures: bustline=36;
waistline=30"; length=58". I believe it would fit up to a 40"
bustline. The vest is in very good condition, but it does need
cleaning as it has been stored in a bridal warehouse for years. The
vest could also be combined with VWC227 (Blue Beaded Vest) and used
in a wedding for the bridesmaids.

Burnished Green/Gold Cocktail
Dress
Dazzling is how to describe this litte green strapless cocktail
dress. The entire bodice is covered with goldtone sequins forming a
floral pattern. The bodice is boned adding a bit of support to the
bodice. The dress has a wide horizontally pleated waistband which is
done in a cumberbund styling. The waistband begins under the
bustline and continues to the natural waistline. The skirt is
straight with a peplum - reminiscent of the 1940's. The peplum is 8"
long in the front and lengthens as it encircles the skirt - reaching
the hemline at the center back. This dress screams glamour, yet is
so beautifully designed with top quality construction. There is no
size information on the dress, but it measures as follows:
bustline=34"; waistline=24" and length=31". The dress is in good
condition and would be perfect for a party or formal occassion.

1922 Lavender Beaded
Gown
This beaded gown dates to 1922 and is just beautiful! The gown is
lavender in color and is literally covered with frosted beads and
crystals. Unfortunately, my photos cannot do the gown and beading
justice. The evening gown is made of lavender chiffon and has a
foundation of goldtone lame and white silk. The gown is floor length
and has a straight neckline in the front and a rounded neckline in
the back. The goldtone lame foundation begins right above the
bustline, leaving the top portion of the bodice sheer chiffon. The
gown is sleeveless with deep cut armholes, allowing the lame
foundation to show. Beaded fringe outlines the entire armhole. The
gown has a drop waistline with an attached beaded "belt". The skirt
falls straight to the floor with a long panel on each side which is
decorated with beaded fringe. The entire gown is heavily beaded.
The beading is a combination of large and small frosted beads and
crystal beads creating both large and small designs. The gown is
well made with an incredible number of snaps and hook/eyes to close
the gown. The gown has a white underbodice which has a front
hook/eye closure. Next comes the gold lame foundation. This closes
with snaps. The actual dress has snaps along the side, around the
waistline and into the skirt. There are also snaps on one shoulder
(this shoulder does have damage and needs repair and reinforcing).
The gown is in very good condition; however the shoulder straps do
have damage due to the weight of the gown. The beading is also in
good condition. There are some missing beads, but because of the
quanity, they are not noticeable. The beading is sturdy and seems to
be tight. I would not recommend wearing this gown, due to the
weight; however it could be worn with care after repair and
reinforcement is completed on the shoulder straps. The color, style
and beading combine to create a true collector's item. The gown has
approximately a 32" bustline. Again, this gown does need a bit of
work, but it is definately worth the effort. Due to the delicate
nature of beaded gowns, this gown is not returnable, so please read
the description well and ask questions before purchasing.
