These pretty little Victorian bloomers are done in white cotton.
The bloomers have a set-in fitted waistband with a "double" side
button closure - both sides have a button hole on the back and front.
The side openings are extra long. There is marking on the inside of
the waistband which reads, "710X". Each leg features a band of
beautiful white openwork, then a 2" lace ruffle. The bloomers are in
good condition, but they do need a bit of mending and trimming.
There is a small tear in the crotch, which could easily be patched
and the bottom edge of the ruffle has some minor damage - there are
also a few small tears in the ruffle which are not noticeable without
inspection. These vintage bloomers measure approximately:
waistline=22" and
length=25".

Victorian Cotton
Bloomers
A Victorian wedding isn't complete without Victorian bloomers!
These bloomers have a 2-button side closure and are fitted through
the waistline to just above the hips. The hips, posterior and legs
of the bloomers are larger and loose fitting. The legs are decorated
with two (2) groups of horizontal pin pleating. Each leg is finished
with a 3" scalloped ruffle bottom. The ruffle is accented with a
delicate whitework design. The bloomers are in very good condition
and very wearable. There are a few small holes at the waistline, but
not detracting. The bloomers measure a 23" waistline and 26" long.

LARGER SIZE!!! Vintage Cotton
Lace
Nightgown
The lovely white vintage nightgown is pretty enough to wear as a
summer
dress! The gown is done in a heavy white cotton and nicely decorated
with wide lace. The gown is a larger size and cut straight. The
neckline is wide and slightly rounded in both the front and back.
The neckline is created with a wide lace (similar to Battenburg) and
the lace continues around the arm hole and over the shoulder so that
the front and back create wide shoulder straps. The straps do not
have a closure and are pinned in the photo. The front of the gown
has the cross-stitched initials, "M.D". Side gussets are sewn into
the side seams giving the gown a bit more room toward the hemline.
The gown is in very good condition. The material is sturdy and very
wearable. The gown is displayed on a dress form which measures
approximately: bsutline=42"; waistline=32"; hips=42" and length
(shoulder to hemline)=49". When measured from side seam to side
seam, the bust measured approximately 46" and the waist measured
approximately 50".

1900's Silk
Undergarment
This beautiful silk vintage undergarment is simple, yet so lovely!
The gown
has an empire waistline with a four (4) button front closure. The
opening continues below the waistline. The neckline is squared and
trimmed with a dainty lace. The sleeves are short (and small). They
are also trimmed with lace. The skirt portion falls to the floor
with a long train in the back. There is a double-ruffle along the
hemline. The bottom ruffle is silk whereas the top layer is white
cotton - also lace trimmed. The back of the skirt has a center seam
which branches off to include two material panels. These panels
create an inverted "V" shape. The gown is in good condition, but
there are scattered holes throughout. I don't think I would
recommend wearing this piece, but it would be a great addition to a
vintage clothing collection. The bust measures approximately 32"-33".

Circa 1800's
Chemise
This wonderful homespun linen chemise dates to the late 1700's/early
1800's. The vintage chemise was purchased with the following corset -
VEC589. Both came from the same person and both are embroidered with
the initials "V.C" in red. The chemise has little shape. It has a
square neckline which is edged in handmade lace. The lace design is
simple, yet perfectly in keeping with the garment. The chemise is
shaped like a square. It is wide and straight. The sleeves are
simple in design with gussets under each arm. This was typical of
this period. The chemise is all hand sewn. The chemise is large -
much larger than the size of the original owner. This too was
typical of the period. The chemise measures as follows:
bustline=51"; waistline=60" hemline width=80"; length (shoulder to
hemline)=41". The chemise is in very good condition, but does have a
bit of yellowing. I have not soaked it, but I do believe it would
come out. This is a wonderful collector's item.

Circa 1800's
Corset
This vintage corset came with the above chemise (VEC586). It is
simple in
design, with a wide square neckline. This style corset is typical of
the late 1700's/early 1800's. The corset does not have any bones,
but is made of a heavy, ribbed material. The corset laces up the
front (lacing is not included) in brass eyelets. Gussets are set in
the front of the corset, over each breast and at the bottom of each
side seam. These gussets give the corset its shape. The corset is
sleeveless but does have shoulder straps. The corset is embroidered
with the initials, "V.C." in red thread (matches the initials in
VEC586). The corset is in very good condition. It is sturdy with no
holes or tears. There is some yellowing, but I have not tried to
soak it and I do believe the yellowing would come out. This is a
wonderful item for an antique textile collection.
