Vintage 1900's Straw Brimmed
Hat
This vintage straw hat reminds me of Scarlet O'Hara! It is a wide
brim
straw hat with a smaller sized crown, which leads me to believe it
was a child's hat. The hat has two black ties attached to the sides
that tie under the chin. One of the ties has a tag sewn to the
inside. The material tag is white and the lettering is red. It
reads, "Clair Murielle - 8". I would assume this is the name of the
original owner and possibly her age when she wore the hat??? The
crown of the hat is encircled with a wide pink ribbon and a large
floral decoration at the center back. The flowers in the decoration
are flocked. The hat is not lined, but does have a small brown paper
label on the inside which reads, "50-II". The brim of the hat
measures approximately 4" wide. The hat is in very good condition.
The ribbon does have some wear and a few small tears, but is still
intacted. There are also a few areas on the brim of the hat where
the straw rows are seperating. The hat is a wonderful accessory and
would look wonderful displayed on a hat stand (see VEK141).

Vintage Tan Straw Child's
Hat
This vintage hat is done in tan straw. The straw is woven in a
circular design
which has a ribbed look. The back of the hat has a straw trim which
does have some damage on one side. The entire hat is lined with a
taupe colored lining inside the brim and on the inside of the back.
The lining on the outer edge of the brim is wired. This wire
continues around the outer edge of the hat. Cream colored cotton
lines the upper portion of the hat and a purple colored paper and net
lines the crown. There is evidence of the original ties which are
very thin, dark brown ribbon. The ties have been replaced and the
side flowers added. There is some wear to the lining and the hat in
general, but still in very good condition.

Black Lace/Beaded
Vintage Bonnet
I believe this was an early bonnet which was refurbished. This was
a common practice during the 1800's. The vintage bonnet is all done
in black
lace with cranberry velvet and black beaded trim. The bonnet has
black lace which frames the bonnet in the front. A band of cranberry
velvet begins at the sides and continues over the crown. This velvet
is edged with black beaded trim and further decorated with beaded
appliques. The back of the bonnet is a made up of horizontal rows of
black lace. The bottom back edge of the bonnet has a long lace
ruffle which covers the neckline. There are lace ties attached to
each side. The inner portion of the bonnet looks much more worn and
has a button sewn to one side and a long loop strap sewn to the other
side. A black cotton lining partially covers the stiff interior of
the hat. It is in very good condition and wearable, but the inside
does show wear.

Vintage Edwardian Velvet/Feathered
Hat/Box
This beautiful vintage hat comes from a weathy Delware estate. I
belive the
hat is from the early 1900's, but it may be earlier - whatever time
period, it is beautiful! The hat is a green/brown colored velvet.
It has a brim which wraps around the entire hat but varies in width.
One side of the brim is turned up and held in place by a bouquet of
rose colored flowers. Large rose and green colored feathers extend
from the flowers - covering the entire side of the hat. The hat is
large in size so you will have no trouble accommodating an early hair
style. The inside of the hat is lined and there is a maker's label
which is attached to a piece of material which has slipped off the
inside crown of the hat. I belive it and the drawstring lining just
need to be retacked to hold them in place. I think this is an easy
repair. The label reads, "Geo. Allen, Incorporated, 1214 Chestnut
Street, Philadelphia." There is also a sticker on the inside of the
lining. It has numbers, but I don't know what it is for. The lining
does have some small holes, but nothing very detracting. The hat
comes in a John Wanamakers box, but I don't know if this is the
original box to the hat. The box does have some damage and is taped
to hold the cover together. The hat is in very good condition, but
does need a little steaming to reshape it just a bit (from being kept
in the box for so many years). Also, there is one feather which is
broken, but is still intact and is not bent. The hat is wonderful
and very wearable.

French Black
Vintage Bonnet
This black crepe vintage bonnet is accented with a large purple
flower and
black feathers. The bonnet is created with vertically crinkled cream
strips which have been wound into an interesting design. The flower
sits on the top of the bonnet and is surrounded with small feathers.
A large feather extends downward on one side and a small feather
accents the opposite side. Two wide ribbons tie under the chin. The
detail on this hat is wonderful. The inside of the bonnet is lined
and is stamped with goldtone lettering. It is difficult to read the
print, but I think it says, "Madame Gueil(??) Mo????, Cuers". The
bonnet is in very good condition, very wearable and has very little
wear. It was purchased from a French dealer as were several of my
other hats.

Circa 1915-1919 Black Ruched
Mourning Hat
One of my favorites! This solid black vintage hat is simple, yet the
detailing is incredible! The hat features a 3" wide brim which has a
2" wide ruched area around the hat. The side features a decoration
done in ribbon and braid which extends to the top of the hat. The
decoration may be missing a piece of ribbon, but it is beautiful just
as is. The top of the hat has 6 small pleats which extend from the
decoration. This was most likely a mourning hat due to it's limited
decoration and severity.

White/Black Vintage Fur
Hat
Cute little vintage hat with an open crown. The front of the hat
consists of
a band of white and black fur which is attached to two round black
velvet rings. The rings are tied in the back with a black velvet
tie. This has been pinned on. It looks like it originally went with
the hat, but I'm not sure where it was attached. There is also one
small fur ball attached to the back of the rings. I assume there was
another, but it is no longer with the hat. The inside label reads,
"Best Go, Fifth Avenue, New York". There is a small comb attached to
the inside of the hat. Except for the velvet tie, the hat is in very
good condition.

Light & Airy!
This light and airy vintage hat is cream color. It is made of faux
straw
and has a wide brim in the front. The brim narrows as it rounds
toward the back of the hat. The crown is cut square and a
lightweight material banding encircles the hat. The banding is has
three horizontal pleats. Two small bows accent the center front
brim. The hat has a Union label. The hat is in very good condition
and very wearable. It has a definite 1960's flair.
