Circa 1912-1920 Embroidered
Vintage Gown
The embroidery work on this vintage gown is beautiful. The gown is
one
piece, with a net underlining with side snap closure. The gown has a
"V" neckline which is net with a black net overlay. The neckline has
a cream and black neck ruffle (ruffle has worn away in some areas).
The sleeves are 3/4 length and are black net with a cream net
underlining to mid arm. The edge of the sleeves have a black ruffle.
The beauty of the gown is the embroidered overblouse with is done in
orange, blue, brown and gray. The center of the overblouse has a
goldtone material insert. On each side of the insert there is an
iridescent lavender edging. This overblouse begins at the back of
the shoulders and outlines the entire front. The overblouse has snap
closure which attaches to the underlining. The bottom corners of the
overblouse is weighted with round disks sewn inside the blouse. The
waistline has a wide inside band with hook/eye closure (hook/eyes
need to be replaced as they are rusty). The band has a sewn tag
which reads, "E. A. Radford, Cleveland, O.). The skirt is black and
fairly straight. It is gathered at each side to give it the look of
panniers. One side has a black decorative applique with long
tassels. The skirt has a side slit which begins at the applique and
continues to the hemline. The back of the waistband is has a
decorative insert with lavendar braided material insert. From the
applique hangs a black panel with is accented with long fringe and
beads (some of the fringe is worn away and some is fragile). This
vintage
gown shows some wear on the net underlining, but is still very
wearable. There is no shattering. The hemline looks like it has
been taken out and either lengthened or shortened, but not noticeable
due to the dark color. Measurements: bustline=34"; waistline=23";
length (shoulders to hemline)=53 1/2".

LARGER SIZE! Circa 1900's Tan
Linen Walking Suit
The perfect vintage walking suit for the Spring and Summer. This
lightweight tan linen walking suit features a longer jacket with a
four button front closure. The buttons are over 1" in diameter and
have a wood graining; however they are a plastic of some sort. The
jacket has a lapel collar and long sleeves. Each sleeve is accented
with two smaller buttons which match the front. The jacket has two
seams in the front - one on each side of the front closure. The back
of the jacket has a center vent and three seams. The jacket is
approximately thigh length. The matching 9 gore skirt has a center
back hook/eye and snap closure (both are new). It is floor length
with a set in waistband. Neither the skirt nor jacket are lined.
The walking suit is in very good condition and wearable. It does
have a few very small, light stains scattered here and there, which I
think will come out without a problem - it has not been cleaned.
This vintage
suit is a very wearable size, measuring: bustline=34"-35"; shoulder
to shoulder=13"; jacket length (shoulder to hemline)=29";
waistline=27"; skirt length=38".

1900's Vintage Blue Velvet Walking
Suit
Wonderful navy blue velvet vintage walking suit from the early
1900's. The
walking suit consists of a heavily decorated jacket and floor length
skirt. The jacket has a shawl collar and center front two hook/eye
closure; however there are two buttons which give the appearance of a
button closure. The buttons are covered with matching velvet. The
collar is decorated with a colorful trim. The trim is edged in
goldtone with alternating tiny blue, green and rust embroidered
circles. The front of the jacket is cut higher than the back. It
gradually lengthens as it reaches the side seams. There are two
vertical pleats on each shoulder. The outer one is decorated with
black passementerie trim. The jacket is constructed with a side
panel with is top stitched and rounds at the waistline to the back
belt. The sleeves are long and straight and end in a turned up cuff.
This cuff is also decorated with the embroidered trim. The back of
the sleeve is decorated with a vertical piece of passementerie trim
which scrolls and is accented with a button approximately mid-arm.
There is also some diagnal pleating in the sleeve. The back of the
jacket is incredible! Please be sure to see the close-up photos of
the back of the jacket. The center back of the jacket, as well as
the shoulder pleats have vertical passementerie trim There is also
an attached belt which is held in place with two buttons. Six
buttons also decorate the lower center back. The jacket is lined;
however the lining is totally shattered and needs to be removed and
relined. The original label is still attached, which reads,
"Thresher Bros., Boston, New York, Philadelphia". The matching skirt
is gored with a fairly straight cut. It is unlined and has a back
hook/eye closure. The waistband is faced with a narrow piece of
material. The bottom portion of the skirt has two horizontal bands
which encircle the skirt. Each band is accented with a button. The
hemline of the skirt is lined with heavier navy blue cotton material.
The walking suit is in good condition outside of the lining. There
are a few stains as the suit has not been cleaned. These are not
noticeable because of the dark color. After relining, this would be
a very wearable walking suit - the material is sturdy. Measurements:
bustline=33"; waistline=23"; hips=35"; skirt length=40 1/2".

Vintage Teen's Gown W/Gold Metalic
Design
This vintage gown is made of fine silk georgette with gold thread
design
work over and under the front of the bodice, along the sides of the
skirt and the back of the bodice. Stunning! The neckline is
dropped, forming a wide "V". The piece is lined with beige silk which
shows through the front and back of the bodice area and a portion of
the front of the front of the gown. Repair have been made to the
beige underlining at the left shoulder: some holes remain, however,
the piece has been strengthened to prevent the main problem area from
getting any worse. The gown has a gathered satin sash which fastens
at the back with a bow. The sleeves are long and graceful and give
this great gown the classic look of the mid to late teens. Closure is
by hooks and eyes fastening the underlay of beige and design work
along the front. This is a very handsome vintage gown in good
condition.
Wearable with some care. Measurements: bust=38", waist=29"-30",
shoulders=16", waist to hemline length=37 1/2", sleeve length=24".

1920/1930's Vintage Black Dress
This vintage black dress is made of a light weight taffeta type
material. It has a "V" neckline and is sleeveless. The bodice is simple and
falls straight to the drop waistline. The drop waist begins with a small piping, followed by about 1" of gathering. The skirt is full and consists of two layers. The top layer comes to above the knee in the front and gradually drops in the back. The bottom layer falls
below the knee and is almost floor length in the back. The dress has
a side snap closure which begins at the armhole and continues through
the waistline. The upper portion of the underskirt is done in black
net to give the skirt some body. A large red bow accents the
waistline on one side (the bow has faded in areas and is splitting in
a few places - I would recommend replacing it with a new one). This
vintage dress is in very good condition, except for the bow, and is wearable.
The dress measures: bustline=36"; waistline=32"; hips=36".

Vintage 1922 Lavender Beaded
Gown
This beautiful vintage beaded gown dates to 1922 and is just
breathtaking! The gown is lavender in color and is literally covered with frosted beads and
crystals. Unfortunately, my photos cannot do the gown and beading
justice. The evening gown is made of lavender chiffon and has a
foundation of goldtone lame and white silk. The gown is floor length
and has a straight neckline in the front and a rounded neckline in
the back. The goldtone lame foundation begins right above the
bustline, leaving the top portion of the bodice sheer chiffon. The
gown is sleeveless with deep cut armholes, allowing the lame
foundation to show. Beaded fringe outlines the entire armhole. The
gown has a drop waistline with an attached beaded "belt". The skirt
falls straight to the floor with a long panel on each side which is
decorated with beaded fringe. The entire gown is heavily beaded.
The beading is a combination of large and small frosted beads and
crystal beads creating both large and small designs. The gown is
well made with an incredible number of snaps and hook/eyes to close
the gown. The gown has a white underbodice which has a front
hook/eye closure. Next comes the gold lame foundation. This closes
with snaps. The actual dress has snaps along the side, around the
waistline and into the skirt. There are also snaps on one shoulder
(this shoulder does have damage and needs repair and reinforcing).
The gown is in good condition; however the shoulder straps do have
damage due to the weight of the gown. The beading is also in good
condition. There are some missing beads, but because of the quanity,
they are not noticeable. The beading is sturdy and seems to be
tight. I would not recommend wearing this gown, due to the weight;
however it could be worn with care after repair and reinforcement is
completed on the shoulder straps. The color, style and beading
combine to create a true collector's item. The gown has
approximately a 32" bustline. Again, this vintage gown does need a
bit of work, but it is definately worth the effort. Due to the delicate
nature of beaded gowns, this gown is not returnable, so please read
the description well and ask questions before purchasing.
